VXI
Test Systems
Elliott
Tech designed the solutions module, a VXI card, which is
capable of performing many telecommunications testing functions. Inside the solutions module are several modules filling
distinct functions.
All solutions modules contain a Digital Platform Board (DPM) that
functions as the VXI interface and contain three TI
TMS320C44 DSPs. These DSPs
communicate with each other as well as with the VXI system in a
multiprocessor environment. The
DSPs also communicate with plug-on modules used for test implementation.
These plug-on modules plug onto the DPM in a stacking
arrangement. In addition to
the DSPs, the DPM has five Xilinx FPGAs and 6 Xilinx CPLDs.
Four
Channel Analog Module
The
Four channel Analog Module is a 4 channel analog plug-in module.
This board is one of the companion boards that plugs into the DPM.
It contains 4 isolated analog channels, 2 outputs and 2 inputs.
It is designed primarily for testing of voice band
telecommunications signals up to 200 kHz. The analog output channels contain a 12-bit A/D converter and
the analog input channels contain a 16-bit A/D converter. All
channels encompass filtering, attenuation stages, and gain stages. Each isolated analog channel communicates with the common
section via a high-speed optically coupled serial link.
