The RALLYAC-7 Story

In 1999, Anders Green purchased his dream car -- a Mazda RX-7. Soon growing tired of knowing all the North Carolina state police on a first name basis, Anders decided he needed to find a more suitable surface for burning the rubber off his tires than the Cary, North Carolina streets.  Luckily for the women and children of Cary, he stumbled onto the rally scene.

Anders enlisted the aid of friend and ETI engineer, Jeff Denton, to help develop a computer system, the RALLYAC-7, to better compete in the rally. After tearing the car apart, the team quickly ascertained how to get a signal from the car to read accurate speed. They soon developed formulae to help the user successfully navigate a rally competition.

Their first rally came upon them swiftly, but they had a working prototype ready. With Anders as pilot and Jeff as navigator, the two novices set out on their first rally race equipped with the RALLYAC-7.  Lost on the first leg, they settled into the navigation routine by the second. Thanks to the RALLYAC-7, the third leg was flawless, the best score of the field.
